UNFPA & UNICEF – Transgender population against HIV/AIDs

A strategy for Behavior Change Communication (BCC) on raising awareness on HIV/AIDS among the transgender population in Pakistan was created focusing on transgender and male sex workers.

Strategy: Using techniques from anthropology, ethnography and Human Centered Design, White Rice conducted a 3 month in-depth research to design a framework for the target group.

Impact:

The community’s involvement in content development was so effective that they instantly related to every aspect of the story, making the message impactful. The content was later deployed on handheld devices and used by peer educators in information sharing and awareness raising sessions.
